The City of Joburg’s Growth and Development Strategy is intended to develop the city into one that is inclusive, job intensive, and resilient. The strategy also aims to develop Johannesburg into a city with a competitive economy that harnesses the potential of its citizens.
Joburg Market (JM) will thus host the JM Farmer’s and SMME (small, medium and micro enterprises) Day, under the theme ‘Growing together’, in line with the JM Transformation Agenda, to promote a supportive and enabling business environment for the creation of opportunities for growth and job creation, and to encourage entrepreneurship.
What to expect
The JM Farmer’s and SMME Day will address the challenges of market access and focus on how the JM functions. The event also aims to increase the number of emerging farmers selling their produce through the JM.
Those attending the JM Farmer’s and SMME Day will meet and engage with different role players in the sector, and will learn about the regulations and requirements for accessing national fresh produce markets.
